History Museum Interpreter

The History Museum Interpreter will collaborate with the Visitor Services team and may be called upon to assist the Museum Curator with collections-related aspects of the museum. This includes assisting in developing and running summer programming and events, greeting visitors, providing customer service in our museum gift shop, conducting guided tours of the museum, recording visitor statistics, interpreting museum exhibits, generally providing an enhanced visitor experience, and other duties as required. 
 

The Interpreter will also assist with maintaining and stocking gift shop displays, maintaining an inventory, taking special requests, retail sales, and displaying and maintaining inventory for resale products. They, along with the Visitor Services team, will maintain and operate cash registers for admissions, pass, and retail sales, and ensure that cash handling procedures are completed in adherence to policies and procedures. They will also be responsible for answering the museum’s main telephone line and passing messages on to the appropriate staff or board member.

This position is seasonal full-time at 35 hours/week, pays $15.20/hr, and is suitable for a student in or returning to school, between 16-30 years of age.

This position's start date is May 27th 2024 and the position ends on August 31st, 2024. 

All positions are dependent on funding approval.
